Narmada
Narmada also called the Rewa, is a river in central India and the fifth longest river in the Indian subcontinent. It forms the traditional boundary between North and South India and flows westwards over a length of 1,312 km (815.2 miles) before draining through the Gulf of Khambhat into the Arabian Sea. The source of the Narmada is a small bowl, known as the Narmada Kund, located at Amarkantak on the Amarkantak hill.

Narmada is considered a holy river for the Hindus. There are many religious places and Ghats (banks) along the course of the river – Amarkantak, Omkareshwar,Maheshwar in Madhya Pradesh (Gujarat's neighboring state), Nareshwar, Garudeshwar, Chanod Karnali in Gujarat. The importance of the Narmada River as sacred is testified by the fact that the pilgrims perform a holy pilgrimage of a parikrama or circumambulation of the river.
